Royal Vegas Management and Company Review

Royal Vegas was established in 2000, owned by Digimedia Limited and managed by its subsidiary, The Fortune Lounge Group. Fortune Lounge is renowned as one of the oldest and most respected online casino companies in the world. Note the combination of those two adjectives – ‘oldest’ and ‘respected’. The online casino industry is teeming with aged operators, but when so many years have passed, sustaining a polished reputation isn’t the easiest of accomplishments. It’s what has kept Royal Vegas running so strong for over a decade.

Fortune Lounge Group

The Fortune Lounge Group is a subsidiary of Digimedia Limited, originating in 1999 with the launch of 7 Sultans, the first of 12 online gaming sites now operated by the group. Royal Vegas materialized the following year, along with Vegas Palms. With three successful online casinos under its wing, the company decided to go the cohesive route, uniting the three under the blanket branding of Fortune Lounge Group in 2001. Several more casinos were formed in the coming years, followed by a transition into the online poker industry in 2005 with the launch of Poker Time. The Fortune Lounge Group boasts the honor of being the very first online gambling organization to receive accreditation from eCOGRA, a third-party auditing firm and online casino watchdog. eCOGRA not only tests software to determine its fairness, posting monthly payout percentages for each casino reviewed, but also ensures that other areas of operations are running seamlessly. VIP Management

This is one area where Fortune Lounge Group outshines the rest of the online gambling industry. The company treats the VIPs of its online casinos as well as any land-based establishment, if not better. Like other brands, dedicated hosts are delegated to care for each VIP member on Royal Vegas and special promotions and rewards are made available. Unlike most competitors, however, Fortune Lounge Group takes extra care of its VIPs by sending them on extravagant vacations and inviting them to exclusive events. Whether it’s an all-expense paid holiday for two to the Bahamas at a 5-star resort hotel, or front row tickets to the FIFA World Cup, affluent members of Royal Vegas and all other Fortune Lounge operations are privy to the highest class treatment the online casino industry has to offer.

Tarnished Reputation

There have only been two known incidents to tarnish the reputation of the Fortune Lounge Group over the last 15 years, both brought on by a negative recreation from the online casino watchdog, Casinomeister.

The first occurred in 2005 when Casinomeister bestowed them with the Fall from Grace Award. The reasoning was detailed as a deleterious choice on behalf of the company to use spam as a marketing tactic. The watchdog admitted that “only a handful of complaints popped up”, but berated the group for issuing unsolicited emails with an ‘unsubscribe’ link, giving recipients the option to never again receive such emails even though they hadn’t subscribed to them in the first place. Such tactics made it legal to send the emails, but did little so sedate the raised eyebrows of industry regulators. Fortune Lounge has since ceased marketing strategies of that nature.

The second incident arose in March of 2007 when Casinomeister shifted Fortune Lounge to the blacklist of ‘Rogue’ operators after one of its casinos confiscated the accounts of a substantial number of winning players. Those players had claimed a large casino sign-up bonus, then used it to play games with a low house edge, building up large balances in the process. Such activity is generally referred to as ‘bonus abuse’ in the online casino industry, hence the site’s refusal to release the winnings.

When Casinomeister listed them as rogue, Fortune Lounge conducted an investigation into the players’ claims and found that the site’s terms and conditions failed to thoroughly cover the guidelines bonus abuse. The closed accounts were reopened and refunded their due winnings. Casinomeister subsequently removed Fortune Lounge from its blacklist.
